Spotlight on One of the Professional Team Members Who Works for You at Nash Disability Law.
“I came to the states from Bolivia at the age of seven,” recalls Carolina, Case Management Lead at Nash Disability Law. “There was only one person who spoke Spanish in my whole grade, and she refused to help translate. Two years later we were best friends and have been ever since,” she says with an easy smile.
That childhood experience and the rest of Carolina’s life has lined up quite well with a quote from one her favorite movies, Forrest Gump: “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”
The same empathy and compassion that won over her seven-year-old classmate is evident every day in Carolina’s work.
“I oversee the Case Management Department for our clients seeking Social Security Disability benefits. I have a very broad range of responsibilities that include reviewing new case files and dealing with the Social Security Administration directly on behalf of our clients.”
The disability attorneys at Nash and our team praise Carolina’s diligent, behind-the-scenes work on behalf of the firm’s clients.
She has a talent for unraveling the bureaucratic red tape that comes with applying for Social Security Disability benefits. Her Spanish fluency is a plus for our clients in the Chicago area who have limited English language skills.
“I like being a source of stability for our clients and to assist our staff in solving complex problems with Social Security.”
In her nine years with NDL, Carolina says that there has never been a dull moment. “I interact with so many interesting people and cases, and that makes the days go by faster.”
When she isn’t working, Carolina loves eating and drinking at new restaurants around Chicago, traveling, shopping, going on long walks and hikes.
“And working out because of all the eating and drinking,” she explains with a little laugh. But the best part of life, she says, is “building memories with the friends and pets I love the most.”
